My friend, Michael, and I had some fun last week with a gymnast named Jess Bailey. We set up at her gymnastics center for some action shots, and some posed shots as well. Michael brought his lights – Einstein and Alien Bees, and I supplemented with some on-camera flash.
Things I learned from this shoot – I need some big lights! This was a large space to fill, natural light was not plentiful, and it was hard to freeze the action. Also, focus and depth-of field were a challenge. Hopefully we will get to do it again, but it was a fun experiment.
