Animal Ark is now closed for the winter. We will be open a couple of days during the winter, weather permitting, so people can see the animals in their gorgeous winter coats.
I thought I would share some of my favorite images from this past summer.
Bella, the gray fox, rarely comes down from her platform. This was an unusual day – she was basking in the sun on the ground:

CJ, the Canadian Lynx, came to us a year ago after a sad life as a breeder. In a year, her health has improved, her coat is just glowing, and she brings to life the meaning and the need for sanctuaries such as Animal Ark:

Daniel, the orphaned mountain lion cub, is a kitten no longer:

Our tortoises are still plodding along:

Keira, the kit fox, is very shy, but will come out to pounce on some treats:

This summer we got two wolf “pups” from Indiana:

This past summer, Jim and Kathleen Tigan, wowed everyone with their raptor show on the weekends:

Ringo the raccoon, is always inquisitive:

Trixie, our badger, took some time out from digging to pose for me:

And finally, Santo the jaguar, playing with his ball:
